Bio-Guard Brazilian Green Propolis
Propolis – Powerful Natural Antibiotic
Propolis has been used for ages as natural antibiotic or healing agent. Propolis is a resinous product collected by honey bees from plants, particularly from leaf buds, sap flows, which are mixed with saliva and beeswax to the mixture.
The word is derived from the Greek pro (before) and polis (city), meaning, Before The City, or Defender Of The City. Literally, it means “Protect the City”. The bee use these substances to clean, repair and seal every crack in the beehives. With its antiseptic properties, this propolis lining insures a hospital-clean environment for the rearing of brood.
Brazilian Green Propolis being sold is a highly refined and purified from produced industrially from raw material via precise high technology applications. Through strictly test to ensure product quality to meet the demands of bioavailability and modern utilization.
Scientific research
1968 French scientist, Remy Chauvin discovered an incredible fact that no bacteria could cultured in beehive and proven that there are many anti-bacterial ingredients in bee propolis.
1980 Prof. Dr. B. Havsteen confirmed that flavonoids (a class of natural products of high pharmacological potency) content of propolis possess therapeutic effect.
1987 Oxford University study found that propolis contains 149 active bio components.
1991 Scientists confirmed that propolis contains more than 400 natural bio ingredients; the richest & the most important is flavonoid during The World Bee Conference.
1991 Prof. Tetsuya Matsuno, National Institute of Infectious Diseases study that propolis contains 3 anti-cancer agents to suppress the growth of tumour and destroy cancerous cells without any side effects.
The major compounds of propolis as analyzed in recent publications.

Which is the best propolis? What is the grading and quality assessment?
Propolis which is brown or black in color is only suitable for external application. Brown and black propolis contains very limited variety of flavonoids and some of the active ingredients would have been oxidized. With rich plant resources and unpolluted natural environment, only green propolis with unique range of flavonoids can be effectively absorbed, possesses many biological activities, highest in efficacy and is thus useful to human bodies. Green propolis produced by the Africanized bees from Brazil, collected among the Baccharis trees is considered the best.
Brazilian Green Propolis is rated first class in product grading and quality assessments, based on the stringent Japanese criteria on flavonoids content, variety and production processes.
Dosage, Dosing, and Duration of Use
Suggested Usage: 1-3 drops for first time using, gradually increase dosage if without allergic problem. Depending on the application, therapeutic dosages may range from 5 drops each time or more per day. 3 times daily can greatly increase its effectiveness or as directed by a health professional. Children below 10 years, may take half of the dosage of adults. Propolis is a natural antibiotic and safely for consumption even can be taken several times daily. It is claimed that long-term administration of propolis migh not have any side effect which is marketed by health food stores as a traditional medicine and for its claimed beneficial effect in various conditions.
Is Propolis Safe ?
Propolis may infrequently cause contact dermatitis and other allergic reactions. The dermatitis disappears with discontinued contact with propolis. If you are highly sensitive to many substances, or merely prefer to exercise sensible caution, you may want to test your sensitivity to propolis. Put a small amount on your skin to see if a rash develops before using it more extensively. Pregnant women, nursing mothers and children below 2 years should avoid using propolis supplements.
Propolis can store at room temperature and away from direct sunlight.
How should one take the product?
You can consume directly or add the propolis to your favorite fruit juice, milk, honey, or just plain water. Remember, do not take it with tea, coffee or carbonated drinks as these may impede absorption of the active ingredient.
Will propolis caused dysbiosis?
Synthetic antibiotics will cause dysbiosis as they kill all bacteria including friendly bacteria. While propolis as a natural antibiotic will not do so and thus it is suitable for long term use.
Different between propolis and other bee products?
Main ingredient in propolis is flavonoid and ester compounds, but major components of other bee products is nutrients, such as amino acids, sugar and fat. Propolis use for prevention and improve of diseases, other bee products is mainly for the supplementary nutrition.
Propolis why precious ?
Although a colony of bees have 50,000 to 60,000 bees, but just a few bees worker to collect propolis. Therefore, a group of bees can only produce 0.2 to 1.2 grams propolis daily and only produce 100 to 500 grams propolis yearly.
